Copenhagen, Denmark - The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) has signed with ChronosHub, enabling ASM authors to use ChronosHub’s manuscript submission service. The ChronosHub platform allows ASM authors to submit their manuscripts quickly and easily, using the platform’s AI metadata extraction to reduce manual work while benefiting from guidance for funder policy compliance and APC quotation, including discount and waiver eligibility during submission.
The platform also verifies, corrects, and enriches the metadata it extracts by matching it against identifiers, thereby solving issues upstream and avoiding unnecessary manual work later in the process. After the submission is processed, ChronosHub sends the manuscript and all the metadata to ASM’s peer review system.
“We love what ChronosHub has built a platform that is simple, intuitive and easy to use. By centering the author’s journey during submission, we aim to provide a more transparent path toward publication,” said David Haber, Publishing Operations Director, American Society for Microbiology. “With our shift to Subscribe to Open (S2O), it’s even more important to bring clarity about the benefits of publishing with ASM to our authors, and by partnering with ChronosHub, we will be able to accomplish that.”
ASM announced a strategic shift to a Subscribe to Open (S2O) publishing model for the 2025 subscription year for its 6 subscription journal titles. “By creating a straightforward and simple submission process, we will help ensure that our authors can stay focused on advancing their research and pursuing new realms of the microbial sciences,” Haber said.
“We’ve only launched our submission service earlier this year and have quite a lot of interest and positive feedback,” says Christian Grubak, co-CEO and founder of ChronosHub. “We’re looking forward to getting the first publishers live on it during next year.”
The American Society for Microbiology will go live on the ChronosHub platform in mid-2024.
